HL PROJECT WIN – New Parallel Runway – Brisbane, QLD

HL Landscapes have been selected to deliver the landscaping works on the New Parallel Runway at the Brisbane Airport, QLD. Working for Skyway JV (CPB / BMD), HL has been entrusted to help deliver the country’s biggest airport expansion since the 3rd Runway Project in Sydney, NSW. In fact, the same HL team assisted with the vegetation works on the 3rd Runway Project nearly 25 years ago!!

Over the next two years, HL will be undertaking the revegetation of 2 million square meters via several different applications including seeding, stolonising and the laying of turf. As part of our works, HL will also be installing an irrigation system to ensure the successful establishment of the areas.

It has been estimated by 2035 the new runway will lead to the creation of 7,800 new jobs and contribute an additional $5 billion to the region. For travelers, this project will also lead to a greater choice in airlines, destinations and flight times.

This new runway is a key piece of infrastructure that will enable the continued growth of Brisbane, the region and the nation. Furthermore, the new runway will enable Brisbane Airport to better meet the demands of the community it serves, now and for future generations.

HL would like to thank our team who have been working on securing the project for well over two years. We look forward to seeing this significant project grow and develop into what will be the country’s best runway system effectively doubling its current capacity.
