The West Gate Tunnel Project is one of Victoria’s most significant road infrastructure projects, delivering a vital alternative to the West Gate Bridge and improving connections between Melbourne’s west, the Port of Melbourne, CityLink and the CBD.
As part of the broader project, HL Landscapes was awarded a landscape package supporting the delivery of high-quality urban, civil and open space outcomes across the corridor.
The project included major improvements to transport, freight movement, public spaces and community connections throughout Melbourne’s inner west. Alongside the tunnel and road infrastructure, the broader program included new and upgraded walking and cycling links, public realm improvements, new parks and wetlands, extensive planting, and landscape treatments designed to improve the experience of surrounding communities.
HL Landscapes’ involvement reflects our capability in delivering complex landscape works within major infrastructure environments. Working in and around large civil projects requires careful coordination, practical planning, strong safety systems and the ability to deliver quality outcomes within live and highly managed project conditions.
Our scope included soil preparation, planting, turfing, mulching, irrigation, establishment maintenance, revegetation, erosion control, hard landscaping, street trees & open space works.
The West Gate Tunnel package further strengthens HL Landscapes’ presence in Victoria and builds on our experience delivering landscape works for major road, rail and infrastructure projects across Australia.
