Airport Parallel Runway, QLD

In 2020 HL completed the Brisbane Airport Runway project.​​ Working for Skyway JV (CPB / BMD), HL was entrusted to help deliver the country’s biggest airport expansion since the 3rd Runway Project in Sydney, NSW. In fact, the same HL team assisted with the vegetation works on the 3rd Runway Project nearly 25 years ago!

Over the two years, HL took charge of the revegetation of over 2 million square metres via several different applications including seeding, stolonising and the laying of turf. As part of our works, HL also installed an irrigation system to the entire project to ensure the successful establishment of the areas.

It has been estimated by 2035 the new runway will lead to the creation of 7,800 new jobs and contribute an additional $5 billion to the region. For travellers, this project will also lead to a greater choice in airlines, destinations and flight times.

This new runway is a key piece of infrastructure that will enable the continued growth of Brisbane, the region and the nation. Furthermore, the new runway will enable Brisbane Airport to better meet the demands of the community it serves, now and for future generations.
