New Western Roads Project – Civil Landscaping Upgrade, VIC

Following on from our successful works on the Leakes Road project, HL were able to secure and complete two packages on the new Western Roads upgrade project in Melbourne.

Partnering with WBHO Contractors, HL was awarded the civil landscaping works to both the Derrimut Rd (Package 3) upgrade and Forsyth Rd (package 7) upgrade.

HL’s scope included the spreading of site topsoil, supply and installation of mulch, turfing and planting of tubestock and trees.

The Western Roads Upgrade has improved 8 main roads across the West. It has also repaired and resurfaced 37 roads, and strengthened 7 structures, mostly bridges.

The project has had many benefits for growing communities in the western suburbs. It has:

• Made it quicker, easier and safer for all road users
• Gave local businesses opportunities for growth by improving priority truck routes
• Improved access to jobs
• Improved safety for cyclists and pedestrians with more than 50 kms of walking and cycling paths.
